Virginia Senate: Forcing People to Buy Health Insurance is Illegal
February 03, 2010 /Healthcare PR News/ -- By a vote of 23 to 17, the Virginia state senate passed a measure to make it illegal to require individuals to purchase health insurance.
The Democrat-controlled senate's bills will now move along to the GOP-controlled House of Delegates and then onto Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell.
According to the National Conference on State Legislatures, 29 states are pondering similar bills that would fly in the face of the US Congress' attempts at healthcare reform.
